Greeting his fellow citizens with the jubilee date he stressed that the fate of the Zhytomyr region is "complicated, victorious, informative and extraordinary". It deserves to be seriously and, at the same time, orderly analyzed. It should be free from any speculation. V.Lytvyn said that Zhytomyr region was founded at a time of unrest in 1937. It is an original land with its own economic and cultural face, its own peculiarities and trends of development. Features of both Polissya and Podillya were combined here. This land is rich in natural resources, fertile black soil, ancient forests, amazing landscapes and vegetation.
In the historic context, according to V.Lytvyn, Zhytomyr region was a geopolitical borderland. First enemy bombs fell here. "This is a unique and important merit of this region which, to a large extent, played the role of the country?s patrol. It managed to hold the ground and was not demolished by the rapid flow of history," V.Lytvyn said.
